Bisphenol AF

Bisphenol AF (CAS# 1478-61-1) is commonly used as a curing agent in the processing of fluorocarbon elastomers (FKM), often in combination with triphenyl benzylphosphonium chloride (BTPPC). Bisphenol AF-cured fluoroelastomers show superior material characteristics, including thermal stability, chemical resistance and compression set resistance that are essential to their final applications.

Besides its use in fluoroelastomer processing, Bisphenol AF has been successfully used as a monomer in the synthesis of other specialty polymers, including polyimides, polyamides, polyesters, and polycarbonates. Such polymers are used in various a wide range of specialty applications, e.g. in gas separation and semiconductor processing.
