Riedel-de Haën ® - Basis for modern products
Cars, toothpastes, infusion solutions and aircraft seats are only some of
the products for which Riedel-de Haën® brand special chemicals are used.
Hydrofluoric acid is used to make matt surfaces in incandescent bulbs or
bottles, amongst other uses. Other products are used to treat metal surfaces,
preserve wood or reduce the flammability of wool. A Riedel-de Haën brand
product gives sealing products for insulation glass the necessary hardness.
Inorganic salts are important components in dialysis solutions for kidney
patients. Numerous foodstuffs are also treated with Riedel-de Haën branded
products in order to increase the shelf life or to guarantee special quality
characteristics. Such products serve to keep cheese fresh over a prolonged
period, for example. Table salt with added Riedel-de Haën fluorides helps to
prevent caries. Around 50 different branches of industry are supplied from
Seelze - in many cases to world market leaders.

LUMILUX® - Lighting up the dark
Persistent and phosphorescent pigments form part of our daily lives - as
life-saving escape route markings, for example. It is usually LUMILUX
luminescent pigments that light up the dark. LUMILUX is also a firmly
established brand when it comes to ensuring the authenticity of documents, such
as credit cards, cheques, bank notes, passports and personnel documents. The
pigments become visible under ultraviolet light - and no photocopier in the
world is able to falsify this technology. In this way, LUMILUX thwarts the best
efforts of forgers. The pigments manufacturered in Seelze are added to inks,
dyes or plastics. The resultant products are subsequently applied by the
customer by means of printing technology, short cut fibres for paper production
or dispersions for coating applications. Or they may be processed with
transparent plastics by means of injection moulding to produce popular
fluorescent articles for children.
LUMILUX luminescent pigments act like "light reservoirs", storing
ambient light. They then release this light as green light. In dark conditions,
this effect is particularly pronounced and impressive.

PINA® - The platform for modern photographic and
photosensitive materials
PINA® photographic dyes are firmly established in the film industry. They
perform diverse functions in film materials. Special sensitizers provide the
required photosensitivity in the desired colour. Stabilising photographic dyes
help to render photographic materials durable. Infrared dyes enable the direct
usage of computer data. The areas of application are diverse. "Imaging
& information" describes the general technological direction:
Black-and-white films, colour films, medical tomography films, x-ray films,
print films, computer printing plates, holography, semi-conductor lithography -
all these areas benefit from the PINA® brand.

Electronic chemicals
Ultra-fine solutions
Silicon provides the basis for modern microelectronics. Ultra-fine structures
are created in a large number of repeated, predominantly chemical steps to
produce semi-conductor materials with diverse electrical properties. This
provides the basis on which microchips work. In this way, silicon serves as the
basis for the production of memory modules and microprocessors - and to an
increasing extent entire electronic systems.
Chemicals for etching and cleaning purposes in such a production process come
from Seelze.
We create ultra-fine structures
Honeywell supplies acids, bases, ready-to-use etching mixtures and solvents,
e.g. propanol, to electronics groups from all over the world. High-purity
chemicals are required in the production of semi-conductors such as microchips,
solar cells or computer hard drives. We produce such chemicals under so-called
"clean-room conditions", as even the most minimal levels of
contamination will result in defective products for our customers. Hydrofluoric
acid is the most important product for the area of electronic chemicals.
Safe and secure packaging
Our packaging standards go hand-in-hand with our customers' quality and purity
requirements. Our packaging technology ensures the mutual compatibility of
shipped materials while also according due consideration to transportation
requirements and preserving the quality of the dispatched products. Much of the
packaging we employ has been developed in-house. Our packaging experts are also
on hand to advise all other product areas and our customers.
