Quality Products
Honeywell Specialty Materials takes several approaches to adhere to supreme quality standards in our products. Some are in recognition: we seek out the highest possible rating for our facilities, and new technologies that focus on the elimination of errors and their effects, while preserving the highest level of quality. But others are in philosophy: do it right the first time; eliminate non value-added steps, improve efficiency; reduce process variations, and exceed customers' application and performance expectations.
We utilize Six Sigma methodology as a measurement of total quality to realize how effective we are in eliminating defects and variation from our processes. The processes at a Six Sigma company operate at only 3.4 defects per million opportunities - or 99.9997% error-free. Most companies operate at about the Three Sigma level, which is 66,810 defects per million or 93% error-free. Honeywell is already approaching Four Sigma and many individual processes and businesses are well beyond that mark. However, we believe that settling for this level of performance is like shooting for the moon when you can reach distant stars. Our goal is Six Sigma.

Health, Safety & Environment
As a responsible manufacturer of chemical products, Honeywell takes safety very seriously. "Safety first" is the basis for operations at every Honeywell manufacturing site. Stringent systems and procedures are in place and are continually reviewed at Honeywell locations.
Honeywell works closely with external services and implements focused initiatives to ensure safety is a paramount consideration and that everyone associated with production and handling of chemicals is protected to the maximum extent possible. The aim is to eliminate any accidents.
Across its global operations, Honeywell operates a product stewardship program, which involves the corporation taking responsibility for products throughout their total life cycle, even after they have left the Honeywell facility.
