Lumilux® Z-Pigments were developed for cosmetic dentistry applications and
can be incorporated into ceramic and acrylic artificial teeth, crowns, bridges
and fillings.
Lumilux® Z-Pigments successfully imitate the naturally bluish fluorescent
appearance of human teeth in ceramic dental compounds and artificial
teeth.
The Lumilux® Z-range offers luminescent pigments for acrylate dental compounds
and for and for ceramic compounds, with a fluorescent color matching the
customer's requirements.
Lumilux® R-Pigments for X-ray Application
Lumilux® Phosphors for x-ray convert the visible shadow image which is formed
when x-ray penetrate an object into a visible image which can then be examined.
The R-pigments must have a high energy x-ray. Thus, compounds of elements with
high atomic number should be matched to the spectral sensitivity of the
detector.
Different quality requirements exist for the various x-ray techniques, e.g.
fluoroscope screens, intensifying screens, x-ray image intensifiers and
scintillation crystals. A compromise between high brightness (coarse particles)
and good image transfer properties (fine particles) has to be achieved. The
decay time should be so short that moving objects do not blur the image.
