Amherstburg, Canada site completes emergency drill with local government
& emergency responders
Honeywell Fluorine Products' Amherstburg, Canada, site recently completed an
emergency drill with local government and emergency responders as part of
Specialty Materials' commitment to Responsible Care®. Local emergency teams
from Amherstburg's fire, police and ambulance departments, as well as hazardous
materials responders, participated in the site's drill. "The on-site drill
was held in conjunction with a county-wide table-top exercise and mock media
events, providing a chance for Honeywell personnel to increase the knowledge of
hydrogen fluoride, also called hydrofluoric acid or HF, in the local community
and with emergency responders," said Dean Palmer, Amherstburg plant
manager.
