Honeywell Announces its New Solvent for Industrial Aerosol Formulations: Genesolv® ST

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, New Jersey, April 1st, 2003 - Honeywell's Chemicals Division is announcing the launch of Genesolv® ST, the newest product in the Genesolv® S Series of solvents.

"Genesolv® ST is the perfect extension of our existing Genesolv® S product line", states Guillermo Hitters, Program Leader for the commercialization of the Genesolv® S Series. "Our new product exhibits better solvency than Genesolv® SF and S-TZ, our other two products, without compromising the product's inherent plastics compatibility or non-flammability," continues Hitters.

The new product's launch comes as the result of a yearlong negotiation between Honywell and Techspray. The two parties have come to an arrangement that permits Honeywell to commercialize non-azeotropic blends of its HFC-245fa with the Trans 1,2 dichoroethylene solvent.

Techspray has also recently launched a new series of electronics cleaning aerosols under the G3 Brandname which are formulated with Genesolv® SF (HFC-245fa).

Honeywell's Genesolv® S Series of products act as replacements for the former Genesolv® 2000 Series of solvents, which are based on HCFC-141b. Production of HCFC-141b in the US was phased out at the end of 2002. Applications for the Genesolv® S Series of solvents include electronics cleaning, air conditioning and refrigeration system flushing, general aerosol solvents, and a variety of other specialty solvent uses.
