Honeywell has an established leadership position in aiding customers in the commercial air-conditioning industry to comply with the progressive phase-out of HCFC-based refrigerants. Through its development of a comprehensive range of safer, non-ozone depleting HFC-based refrigerants, Honeywell is able to assist customers with both intermediate

and long-term replacement solutions for air-conditioning systems that serve offices, schools and hotels, as well as a broad spread of institutional and industrial facilities.

For new commercial unitary installations, such as rooftop systems, as well as small water chiller applications with scroll compressors, Honeywell’s Genetron® 410A brings a long-term, high performance profile to the replacement of (HCFC) Genetron® 22. For existing systems or where minimum changes in design are desired, Honeywell offers Genetron® 407C, which provides similar capacity to Genetron® 22, but with modified efficiency.

For medium, large screw and centrifugal chillers, Honeywell's Genetron® 134a is a close-match replacement for (CFC) Genetron® 12. As a single component refrigerant with no temperature glide, Genetron® 134a has similar capacity to Genetron® 12 and can be used both for retrofitting as well as new equipment.
