Honeywell Refrigerants Europe has been a leading supplier of
air-conditioning refrigerants to the automotive industry for the past 40 years.
Since the phase-out of CFC-12 in 1994 the company has grown its supply position
with Genetron® 134a, the refrigerant adopted by the industry as the new
standard for mobile air-conditioning units.
As a convenience aid Honeywell developed the Genetron® 134a+UV system which
combines equipment charging with leak detection in the same procedure. As with
all 'next generation' refrigerants from Honeywell, Genetron® 134a+UV is a
hydrofluorocarbon (HFC), which has no ozone- depleting potential and fits well
with the strategy of auto manufacturers to design more environmentally friendly
cars.
Long-term, safe and environmentally friendly, non-ozone depleting CFC and
HCFC refrigerant replacement for air-conditioning, commercial and industrial
refrigeration.
By following equipment manufacturers’ recommendations and Honeywell's
guidelines outlined in this publication, service technicians can readily
retrofit many existing CFC-12 refrigeration systems to use Genetron® 134a.
