Dear Genetron® Customers,

Honeywell Fluorine Products Europe B.V. announced today a further price increase for its GENETRON® R-22 refrigerants in Europe. The price for bulk deliveries in Europe will increase to € 3.00 per kg of R-22 as of March 1st, 2009. Packaged goods will be subject to a surcharge. At the same time, the prices for HCFC-containing blends will be increased by 15% across all products and packaging sizes.

In the European Union R-22 will be phased out, and is subject to a use ban as of January 1, 2010. Consequently, Honeywell Fluorine Products will stop selling the product around the end of the third quarter 2009. Honeywell will actively encourage users of R-22 to convert to environmentally more beneficial solutions such as R-404A, R-507, R-410A and others.

The increase of R-22 precedes further price increases for other refrigerants in the second quarter of 2009 which reflect the continued cost pressure and scarcity of raw materials.
