Honeywell has more than 15 years of experience in the offshore industry and has created leading fiber technologies in safety and rescue ropes. Spectra® fiber, a high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) fiber, provides a lighter material for turret insert and pennant lift lines. Spectra® fiber is 10 times stronger than steel, yet light enough to float, and has a specific strength that is 40 percent greater than aramid fibers. The fiber has low elongation, providing high resistance to flex fatigue.
