Honeywell offers both Spectra Shield^® and Gold Shield^® products to meet the broad spectrum of performance, weight, cost, and environmental requirements for complex and demanding vehicle armor designs. Both product lines use Honeywell's patented unidirectional shield technology to enhance ballistic properties.

Honeywell's Gold Shield^® product line strikes a unique balance between ballistic performance, weight, and cost. Gold Shield^® products offer excellent ballistic performance against bullets and fragments to include impressive multi-hit capability and minimal deformation in ballistic events. The Gold Shield^® product line also offers greater tolerance to high temperature environments. Honeywell's Gold Shield^® products for vehicle armor include GV-2016 and GV- 2018 with Kevlar^®.

Spectra Shield^® products are superior ballistic materials for lightweight armor designs. Honeywell's Spectra Shield'^® products deliver impressive ballistic performance both monolithically and in combination with other materials such as metals and ceramics. Pound for pound, Spectra^® fiber is 15 times stronger than steel, yet light enough to float. Spectra^® fiber also has negligible moisture absorption, making it an ideal material for water-borne craft applications. Spectra^® fiber's low dielectric constant makes it virtually transparent to radar, and it offers high resistance to chemicals and ultraviolet light. The latest Honeywell Spectra Shield^® products for vehicle armor include SR-3124 and SR-3130.
