Medical Packaging

In addition to moisture barrier, Aclar® fluoropolymer films possess several other properties that are proving increasingly useful in a growing variety of packaging for medical devices, diagnostic kits, and other medical applications. Aclar® film's clarity permits visual inspection and identification of package contents. Chemical inertness allows contact with special medical solutions, diagnostic reagents, and pathology specimens. You can sterilize Aclar® film using heat, gas, or irradiation. Aclar® film laminates to virtually any flexible or rigid substrate.

Another product of Honeywell Specialty Films - OxyShield® gas barrier film - also functions well in bags and pouches for sensitive fluids such as blood or plasma. Both Aclar® and OxyShield® films comply with FDA regulation #21 CFR 177.1380, Drug Master File #1578.
