Technical Support

Much of the technical support our customers require is fulfilled through the application of the skills, experience, and training of our technical support staff as they service customers on location. However, for customers requiring still further support, our Healthcare Barrier Applications Laboratory in Morristown, New Jersey, offers extensive capabilities.


The facility possesses a coater laminator, slitter, thermoformer, and laboratory. The pilot line is calibrated to NIST standards. Laboratory equipment includes humidity chambers operated according to ICH conditions, MOCON water vapor transmission rate measurement for flat sheet, pouches and blister card, a Klöckner Medipak CP-2 thermoformer, Instron 4442, and Magna-Mike micrometer for measuring uniformity of film and blister thickness.

The Laboratory can conduct an extensive range of thermoforming and stability studies. We can perform experimental package design, blister forming, filling, and labeling.

In addition, Honeywell Specialty Films can perform a Six Sigma thermoformer optimization study for your machinery, with raw material choice and all operating conditions. Our stability testing capabilities (including drug probe stability) encompass three ICH conditions, a 30-day test, and daily weight-gain measurements. Our understanding of the downstream value chain and capabilities throughout the packaging life cycle in extrusion, converting, thermoforming, and packaging adds value to our customers development efforts. Furthermore, our pilot capabilities enable us to produce rapid turnaround on sample structures, as well as to supply un-served or underserved regional markets around the world.
