Careers
A career in Six Sigma will have you leading the organization in identifying
and prioritizing key initiatives with a goal to accelerate Honeywell's growth
and productivity. Six Sigma experts apply Six Sigma methodologies and
statistical analysis tools to solve complex problems and improve processes. Six
Sigma is one of the Honeywell Enablers — a key part of how we pursue our
Growth, Productivity, Cash, and People Initiatives — the top company objectives
set by Chairman and CEO Dave Cote and the senior leadership team.
As a Six Sigma professional, you will share, teach, and mentor employees and
teams to integrate these important tools on various projects across Honeywell.
A career in Six Sigma will bring you in contact with all levels of the
organization and all our businesses: Aerospace; Automation & Control
Solutions; Transportation Systems; and Specialty Materials. Typically, you will
work with cross-functional teams to solve problems, and hone and further
develop excellent project-management skills. Most important, you will help
satisfy customers and drive bottom-line results for Honeywell.
Career Focus
As a Six Sigma expert with a focus in Transportation Systems, you will find
your work to be project based, and selected according to the needs of that
particular Honeywell business. In this role, you will also support the Black
Belt and Lean Expert Supplier development activities. You will mentor suppliers
and support a variety of Six Sigma projects, sometimes more than one at a time.
As part of your own development, in addition to the wide variety of courses at
Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to attend a Black Belt or Lean Expert
training session, and become certified at that level.
Career Path
With an expertise in Six Sigma and a taste for customer satisfaction, you
can take your career down many paths. One Six Sigma expert at Honeywell began
his career in IT application development and support (Manufacturing, Finance,
and Procurement), and then moved into the standards and quality assurance unit.
Both of these experiences increased his interest in Six Sigma-type activities
and defect reduction. It became clear that the tools and processes that define
Six Sigma make a real difference in the way Honeywell achieves success. After
having many different opportunities to add his value to the organization, he
became a Black Belt Certified Six Sigma expert, supporting Financial Service,
IT organizations, and Procurement.
