Energy to Perform

Whether it’s cutting billions of dollars from energy and water bills, converting a coal-fired steam plant to biomass fuels, or improving energy security and comfort for an Arizona military base, Honeywell has a history of helping the U.S. government address its energy concerns. As the country’s largest energy user, the federal government has counted on Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions for more than three decades. Honeywell has worked on more than 150 projects funded through energy savings performance contracts, which offer guaranteed energy savings to pay for facility improvements and upgrades with no up-front capital. The work to date is expected to deliver $1.6 billion in savings, and Honeywell is now focusing on a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy that could include up to $5 billion in additional energy-efficiency, renewable-energy, and water-conservation projects over the next 10 years. In all, Honeywell has completed more than 5,000 energy-saving projects in buildings across the globe and worked with utilities to help more than 5 million U.S. homeowners reduce their energy use.
