One teacher reaches hundreds of students. That's why Honeywell Hometown
Solutions created the Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy scholarship
program for middle school science and math teachers. With the support
of more than 1,400 Honeywell employees, the company has sponsored
more than 1,100 teachers from 34 countries and 50 states to
the Space Academy for Educators program at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in
Huntsville, Alabama.
During the program, teachers participate in astronaut-style training
and simulations, along with activities designed to promote life-long learning
in a classroom setting. All lessons and activities are correlated to National
Science and Math Standards and are ready to use in the classroom.
Applications for the 2010 Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy program
are now closed. Applications to the 2011 program will be available this
fall.
