Safety and security are top concerns for families everywhere. When it comes to
safety and security, nothing is more important than protecting our most
precious and vulnerable asset – our children.
Today, children face more risks in their everyday lives than ever before.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC),
more than 2,100 American kids are reported missing each day. Twenty percent of
girls and 10% of boys will be sexually abused before they reach
adulthood. And the Center receives more than 300 reports of
Internet-related crimes against children every single day – and that’s just the
tip of the iceberg.
Honeywell Hometown Solutions has joined forces with NCMEC in the United States
and the Canadian Center for Child Protection in Canada to help make
children safer from harm abduction and abuse with safety programs aimed at
teachers, parents and guardians, and – most importantly – kids themselves.
Honeywell also partners with Safe Kids China on a home safety program to help
prevent accidental injury in the home. Since 2006, the program has reached
350,000 students in six cities.
