Operation USA

Operation USA

Operation USA helps communities alleviate the effects of disasters, disease and endemic poverty throughout the world by providing privately-funded relief, reconstruction and development aid.

Rapid Relief
Operation USA has experienced that, instantaneously, a family, community and entire nation can be devastated and be faced with unprecedented challenges. To mitigate the immediate effects of such tragedies, Operation USA rapidly and expertly provides on-the-ground aid by sending vital life-saving supplies and cash grants to assist communities in rebuilding. Partnering with grassroots organizations, Operation USA specializes in reaching vulnerable populations who are in the greatest need, yet who are often ignored by governments and larger aid organizations.

Tsunami Efforts
Honeywell Hometown Solutions awarded Operation USA a $250,000 grant and adopted the badly damaged village of Kallady in Sri Lanka. Honeywell funded the construction of a community center, health clinic and 215 homes for the village's 950 surviving residents currently living in temporary housing. The company also funded the sinking of more than 200 wells to provide water for local residents and paying for the rebuilding and refurbishment of the village school.

Richard Walden, President and CEO of Operation USA, said, "Honeywell's support will move people out of tents and into permanent homes, send children back to school and help villagers get back into their fishing boats and fields."
