The Aerospace Displays Interaction and Decision Systems Research Technology
Center focuses on Displays and Graphics, Human Centered Systems, and Vehicle
Health Management and Decision Technology.
The Displays and Graphics Technology (DGT) section's research is focused
towards the evaluation of next-generation display media, advanced graphics
processing capability, and advanced display architectures for our aerospace and
military applications. A key research area is Organic Light Emitting Diode
displays and flexible displays. DGT has a fabrication facility located in
Phoenix, Arizona, which designs and fabricates experimental
thin-film-transistor backplanes and display devices for the purpose of adapting
technology for our applications.
DGT has developed a manufacturing method for flexible backplanes and is
working with the U.S. Army Flexible Display Center at Arizona State University
to establish a 6" fabrication facility. Another key focus area is the
development of common, COTS-based graphics processing capability for our
advanced applications.
