Six Sigma: Honeywell's Way of Life
First implemented in the mid 1990's as a lean development tool, Honeywell's
Six Sigma program has grown into a vital process for all business functions,
generating savings of $500 - $550 million annually.
Commitment to Six Sigma is evident at all levels of Honeywell. In fact, the
Honeywell culture has evolved to promote upper management with Black Belt
experience and develop leadership with these skills.
Today, over 6,000 salaried employees are Green Belt trained and over 3,000
engineers are Six Sigma certified. There are 500 black belts and 40 Master Lean
belt experts. Engineers, sales and marketing employees and those in integrated
supply chain and enabling functions are targeted for Six Sigma
certification.
