MMW, wholly owned by Honeywell International consists of a group of
experienced engineers whose primary focus is millimeter-wave transceiver
front-end and FMCW radar equipment. For the past years MMW team has been
devoted to the building of standard and custom component as well as integrated
modules products. While these products are sold separately, our component line
offers the consumer a foundation for building small, light, and
high-performance radar systems. As part of Honeywell International, the
technical team of MMW will lead the radar product developments for both
civilian and defense markets. The millimeter-wave radar sensor approach
featuring advanced millimeter-wave and FMCW technology for automated carrier
landing system; compact airborne radar for UAV sense-and-avoid in National
Airspace; light-weight unmanned aerial vehicle radar features Moving Target
Indicator (MTI) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) modes for small UAVâs to
support small unit operations.
The MMIC device is the cornerstone of our active devices. These MMICs have the
most significant impact on the specification and resolution performance of our
millimeter-wave transceiver and FMCW radar products. MMW team is unique in that
it has its own MMIC design capacity and, in conjunction with MMIC foundries, is
producing its own MMIC products.
Besides millimeter-wave transceiver and FMCW radar products, we have also
developed other critical elements of millimeter-wave radar systems. These
include a DDS-based linear FMCW exciter with measured linearity better than a
tenth of a millions, millimeter-wave target simulators using optical delay line
to simulate target returns at any distance, an FPGA-based adaptive
leakage-cancellation circuit to achieve low-noise performance of mono-static
antennas, and high-power amplifiers with output power up to 2-Watts at W-band
and 100 Watts at Ka-band.
While MMW is focused on the millimeter-wave transceiver and FMCW radar markets,
we have the capacity to develope other products from DC to 110 GHz, giving us
significant diversity in meeting new opportunities that are extensions of the
basic building blocks established for millimeter-wave transceiver and FMCW
radar products.
