Below is what transpired on Saturday evening.
On decent the flight crew had an engine fail light. One engine went into manual
mode. The flight crew called me upon landing in northern MN. After explaining
to the crew how the Honeywell Zing™ system works, they pushed the single green
button on the Zing control panel to download the engine computers and send the
data off. A computer was not available to me at the time so I called my Tech
Rep. Ed Leadley for assistance. Ed as always was available. Ed was able to view
the down load details on his Blackberry® smartphone. Within 15 minutes of his
review, we knew what the fault was, that we were grounded and what parts we
needed to get it fixed. Within 30 minutes, I had contacted Dallas Airmotive,
they started on parts AOG out of Phoenix to Minneapolis. Parts arrived mid
morning on Sunday, were picked up by Dallas Airmotive drive to remote airport
and installed. Crew was back in Chicago early Sunday evening. Without the
excellent support of Honeywell Zing system and Dallas Airmotive we would have
been delayed at least a day or two. The assistance of the Zing Service for our
engines worked out great for me and the flight crew. I hope to never be without
it!

The Honeywell Zing™ service works well for us, it's easy to use and it saves
about 1 hour of labor for each DEEC download. We download and clear the DEECS
after the last flight of each day. This ensures that we get the most current
trend monitoring data. The ability to see up to date engine trend monitoring
and faults remotely where ever the aircraft is located globally, gives us an
added measure of confidence in the dispatch reliability of our aircraft. I
consider Zing to be an invaluable tool to manage the health of our engines.

I am well pleased with the Zing™ installation, service and support on our 3
Hawkers. Thanks to the Zing™ service and the information it provides, we are
now much more effective in protecting the company’s assets. In the past an
engine parameter shift might have gone un-noticed for several legs, until it
was convenient to do a download. Speed and simplicity of operation are key to
the Zing™ system’s success.
Thanks for a great product.
