SmartRunway / SmartLanding / RAAS Worksheets

RAAS Customer Worksheet Instructions    Please refer to the links below for RCD worksheets and helpful tips. Prior to completing a worksheet, please take a moment to view the hundreds of RCD configurations we have already created, cataloged in this Configuration Table. Using a previously created PN will speed delivery time of the RCD card. If you find a satisfactory configuration in the list, use the PN in the first (left-hand column) to order the RCD.

If you do not see a PN matching your choices after searching the previously created RCDs, feel free to complete the worksheet and submit it to Honeywell. Standard lead time for creation of a new RCD is 12 business days. Completed worksheets may be submitted via faxed Purchase Order to Honeywell Order Administration in USA (fax number (913-712-1335) or INTL (fax number +420 234 625 777) or via email to orders@honeywell.com

PART A
Aircraft Operator: This is the flight department that operates the aircraft.

Date: MM/DD/YYYY format works well in the space provided.

Customer Name/Company: This is the name/company name of the person who will be performing the installation (often a FBO or OEM).

Customer Phone/Fax/Email: Contact info for the person performing the installation (often a FBO or OEM).

Distance unit of Measure: Select FEET or METERS.

Voice Gender: Select MALE or FEMALE.

Approaching Runway - In Air: Select ON or OFF.

Distance Remaining, Landing & Rollout: Select OFF, 50% of Runway, or specify a maximum distance at which the advisory may occur.

NOTE - Software -224-224 or later must be installed to specify a maximum distance for this advisory (3,000 feet, for example). This new feature provides consistent function regardless of runway length and eliminates distracting Distance Remaining callouts at lengthy runways.

Runway End Advisory: Select On or OFF.

Approaching Short Runway Length - In Air Advisory: Select ON or OFF or ALWAYS. If you select ON, enter the Minimum Runway Length in the proper column on the last page. If you select ALWAYS, enter ALWAYS in the proper column on the last page.

NOTE - When selecting ALWAYS the runway length available for landing will be voiced whenever the aircraft approaches to land on a RAAS enabled runway. This will lengthen the "Approaching XX" advisory to "Approaching XX, YYY available" where XX is the runway identifier and YYY is the runway length in thousands and hundreds of feet/meters (example: "Approaching 34 Left, Nine Thousand, Six Hundred Available"). Many operators have found this long duration of audio announcement distracts from other cockpit communications.

NOTE - This Approaching Short Runway Length - In Air Advisory cannot be activated unless the Approaching Runway - In Air advisory (above) is also activated.

Insufficient Runway Length - On Ground Advisory: Select ON or OFF or ALWAYS. If you select ON, enter the Minimum Runway Length in the proper column on the last page. If you select ALWAYS, enter ALWAYS in the proper column on the last page.

NOTE - When selecting ALWAYS the runway length remaining for takeoff will be voiced whenever the aircraft positions for takeoff on a RAAS enabled runway. This will lengthen the "On Runway XX" advisory to "On Runway XX, YYY Remaining" where XX is the runway identifier and YYY is the runway length ahead of the aircraft in thousands and hundreds of feet/meters (example: "On Runway 34 Left, Nine Thousand, Six Hundred Remaining"). Many operators have found this long duration of audio announcement distracts from other cockpit communications.

Extended Holding Time on Runway, Initial: Select OFF or 60, 90, 120, 180, 240, 300 seconds.

NOTE - If selecting Extended Holding Time on Runway, Repeat as any value except OFF, the Extended Holding Time on Runway, Initial advisory (above) must also be activated. It is allowable to set the Initial and Repeat values to different values (e.g. Initial as 120 seconds and Repeat as 60 seconds). It is also allowable to set the Initial value to any value while simultaneously setting the Repeat value OFF.

Taxiway Take-Off: Select ON or OFF.

Distance Remaining - Rejected Take-Off: Select ON or OFF.

NOTE - Software -224-224 or later must be installed to specify a maximum distance for this advisory (3,000 feet, for example). This new feature provides consistent function regardless of runway length and eliminates distracting Distance Remaining callouts at lengthy runways..

RAAS Enable/Inhibit Discrete - Specify an optional input for RAAS Enable or RAAS Inhibit switch/input here. Note this is required to activate an input for any cockpit RAAS Inhibit/Mute switch. .

RAAS Adjustable Volume - Select "YES" if requesting customized volume setting for RAAS. Volume selection is discussed in Honeywell document 060-4134-075. The last page of this document can be completed and submitted with this worksheet to specify volume levels for coding in the RCD..

RAAS Master Key - For Air Transport aircraft only, use this to request a combined RCD and Key Card.

PART B
Fleet or Aircraft Type: Aircraft Name (G-IV, 737-400, etc.)

EGPWS Version: Select MK V or MK VII.

A/C Type Number: EGPWS Aircraft Type from Level 3 Self Test (i.e. "96" for G-V).

NOTE - If the A/C Type Number will change during RAAS activation, then the final (not current) A/C Type Number must be entered. For example, many Gulfstream IV with EGPWS software -204-204 or earlier are configured for A/C Type 79, but are re-configured for A/C Type 87 during RAAS activation. In this case, A/C Type 87 must be entered on this form. RAAS will only be activated when the A/C Type configured matches the A/C Type specified in the RCD.

GPS Antenna Location: Distance from A/C nose to center of antenna in feet, then round up to the nearest 5 feet (i.e. 18 feet aft of nose would be entered as 20 feet).

Advisory Suppress Window: At this time, all non-Airbus aircraft should select "450-550 ft."

Approaching Short Runway Length - In Air Advisory, Nominal Runway Length:
If you selected OFF in PART A, leave this field blank.
If you selected ON in PART A, enter the desired Runway Length to trip this advisory.
If you selected ALWAYS in PART A, enter "ALWAYS" in this field.

NOTE - Selecting ALWAYS configures RAAS to voice runway length available during final approach to RAAS-enabled runways shorter than 99,999 feet.

Insufficient Runway Length - On Ground Advisory, Nominal Runway Length:
If you selected OFF in PART A, leave this field blank.
If you selected ON in PART A, enter the desired Runway Length to trip this advisory.
If you selected ALWAYS in PART A, enter "ALWAYS" in this field.

NOTE - Selecting ALWAYS configures RAAS to voice runway length remaining for takeoff on RAAS-enabled runways shorter than 99,999 feet.
Additional Notes

The Collins GPS-4000 (PN 822-0931-00X) and GPS-4000A (PN 822-1377-00X) are compatible with RAAS only when installing EGPWS software version -224-224 or later.
